All About Ditech

This company was started in 1995. Ditech has made a revolutionary entry into the field to capitalize on the unmet need in the mortgage industry for faster, easier access to mortgage loans. The customers were not satisfied with traditional mortgage brokerage so Ditech's, ditech business model allowed consumers to get mortgages directly through a lender rather than relying on an intermediary like a mortgage broker. Simultaneously, the Internet was gaining popularity and consumers were finally accepting it as both a research and purchasing tool. The company is providing selected group of products that appeal to a wide range of borrowers.

The company is offering fewer products and avoiding niche offerings so that it is able to streamline its operations to keep costs and application delays to a minimum. Its percentage of growth tells its development, where it's funding volume has grown 290% and funding dollar volume has grown by 283%. Capitalizing on GMAC's reputation and mortgage experience, Ditech continues to successfully identify consumer needs and create products to address them.

Key findings that demonstrate this trend include:

1. Nine out of ten respondents have already paid off, or believe they will pay off, their mortgages.
2. U.S. Homeowners surveyed have paid off an average of 53% of their total mortgage.
3. 1 in 3 homeowners estimate they have less than $75,000 to pay off their mortgage.
4. More than 1/4 of respondents (28%) believe they will pay off their mortgage within the next ten years.

Advantages of using Ditech/Mortgage are:

  • Simple and Convenient.
  • Competitive Rates.
  • Fast and Easy.
  • Lowest interest rate and fee.

Summary
We applied for a refinance of our home to put new windows and other updates to our home. We had not one, not two, but three appraisers call to say they were coming to appraise our home. This has been going on since the middle of May. Now, they need proof from an account that I co-signed on, the bank statements and his pay stub will not work. He is in the National Guard and he has his money from the Guard's direct deposited into a savings account to make the monthly payment of his car. I sent the last 5 months bank statements and he sent a copy of his Leave and Earning statement. That didn't satisfy them either..

Summary
I am wondering if you are aware of the situation that I have been put in. Back in the beginning of May I contacted Ditech to refinance my loan. I was sent to Kristin whom in the beginning was great she did my loan I sent her everything that was requested and then waited for a week with no response. I began to call her and leave messages for her and no return calls. When I finally got a hold of her we went over the loan structure and were told the loan had to be restructured because of it requiring an escrow account. We redid the loan several times because of errors that were caused by Kristin. When we finally got everything together she said it would be submitted to underwriting again about a week went by with no information. I then got a hold of Susan Lydic who was my original loan processor. I explained to her my frustration and the lack of response I was getting concerning my loan. She then told me that she would be leaving the company and I would be sent to another processor. My frustration began to grow as I made several calls to Kristin and received no response. Finally after getting a hold of Kristin she stated that the loan was sent back from underwriting AGAIN and was resubmitted. When I got a hold of Mark Menchaca my new loan processor he stated I had gotten lost in the system because of Susan leaving and he had just received my paper work and needed additional items to summit the loan to underwriting. He explained to me that the loan had never gone to underwriting and that as soon as I got him what he needed he would put a rush on it. I forwarded him the information requested and am now being told that the loan was declined because the way it was structured it requires mortgage insurance and would be have to be sent back again to Kristin to redo the paperwork. This process has taken almost 2 months from the original application my rate was locked at 4.375% and expires on 7-3-09. I have an excellent credit rating and can not possibly understand why this has taken so long unless you guys are trying to make me lose this rate. I am very frustrated with the lack of response from your company and am hoping that you guys will live up to what was agreed on. I cannot believe that you would accept this type of treatment of your clients. I went with you guys because I heard you were a good company and I hope you can live up to what you guy promise on your website that you do. The loan process that you state on your website is far from what I have experienced and hope that you will correct this error and live up to your reputation. I expect to hear from you soon. This is the letter I sent and received no response. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER .

Summary
we thought we get the best deal around. The interest rate was pretty low and total point was very reasonable. We sign up with them and have the agreement signed in(locked agreement). Few months later and 5 days prior the closing deadline, they never called about the status of our loan so we have to call them and left a message but never return our call until we keep bugging to call regarding our loan application. So, finally we got their attention. They told us the APR has changed to 10% instead of 5% (as we agreed on and signed) and also the Interest Rate Locked Agreement has change to 4.785 Interest with a 2.250 total points which is not what we agreed on from the beginning. Now that we don't have enough time to extend the closing date, we have nothing but absolutely a total waste with this company. To all of you who are planning to buy a home or are planning to use their service, do not do it. You can get a better deal somewhere and what I mean is a real deal from other lenders who you can trusted and with no fly traps..

Summary
We had Larry Bernal as our mortgage specialist. He was available to answer questions before we signed our preliminary paperwork. After we signed the agreement we were in the dark and had to leave numerous unanswered messages. Our loan amount and interest rate was different that originally agreed upon. The loan orgination fee was increased by $978.00 after the loan went into processing. I would not recommend Ditech to anyone. If you want a fair deal - go through a different company..

Summary
If you're looking for something negative about this bank....you won't find it in this review. I have been with Ditech for about 5 years, and in that time have always been treated with the utmost of respect and courtesy. I have to periodically make wire-transfers overseas, and have found that it is an incredibly simple process with Ditech. My checks are provided free of charge, along with my ATM/Debit card. No charges for ATM usage as long as I use a Ditech ATM - which are all over town, and in very convenient locations. .

Summary
I've been with Ditech for six years, and do not foresee ever changing financial institutions again. Ditech beats every other company hands down on this count. I've never been treated with anything other than the utmost respect when I call. These people go above and beyond the call of duty when you have a concern. While others spout off rules and policies, Ditech finds solutions. I have complete faith in them to do what's right for me and my money. If you are the type of person who can run your financial affairs without the aid of a live teller/customer service representative, then this would be an excellent choice for you. .
